No sound is playing
- Raise the iPhone's system volume and confirm the intended speaker or headphones are connected.
- Pause other audio apps, then play the sound again.
- Return to Ambient Noise after a call, alarm, Siri session, or Bluetooth route change.
A recording cannot start
Ambient Noise needs microphone access only when you choose to record. If access was denied, open iOS Settings, find Ambient Noise, and enable Microphone. Importing an existing audio file does not require microphone permission.
An audio file cannot be imported
Confirm the file is fully downloaded in Files and is a valid audio file supported by iOS. Try opening it in Files first, then import it again. If the issue continues, include the file format and duration in your message; do not send private audio unless you intend to share it with us.
A purchase is missing
Open Settings → Restore purchase. Use the same Apple Account that made the original purchase and make sure the device can reach the App Store. Ambient Noise never asks for your Apple Account password directly.
